Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap recipe

Although it may sound a bit tedious, making your own liquid laundry soap is easy, economical, and green! Use a favorite scented soap since it will be the final fragrance of your detergent. We use a grater from the discount store dedicated just for this use.

Ingredients

3 3/4 cups water
1/2 bar of fragranced soap, grated
1/2 cup washing soda (powder), found in the laundry aisle of the supermarket
1/2 cup Borax powder, found in the laundry aisle of the supermarket
3 gallons of warm water

In a medium saucepan, over low heat, mix 3 3/4 cups water with grated soap. Stir until soap is throroughly dissolved. Allow to cool slightly.

Recycle Paper Tray idea

Our office printer seems to generate its fair share of scrap paper! Whether it is a draft, an extra copy, or just the wrong thing, our printer returns us plenty of paper that we find too good to toss into the recycle bin! Now we've decided to give our scrap paper new life by creating a tray where anyone can pick-up or drop-off paper to be reused one more time before it hits the recycle bin. Some paper has very little printing on it so it can be re-fed through the printer for rough drafts and sample projects, while other paper with more printing, can be used as blotters for glue or cut into patterns or  scrap pads for one more useful time around. A nifty little embellished label is all it takes to make this bamboo tray something special! Now it is amazing to see how everyone puts this paper to one more good use saving money and resources, at the same time!

Vintage Shopping List clip art

Inspired by a shopping list found in an old cookbook, we've updated the list to reflect more modern tastes and laminated it to reduce using a piece of paper for each trip to the market! Download the list and print it on ivory cardstock (for true vintage appeal). Trim the list to the desired size then have the copy store "hard laminate" the copy so you can use it over and over again. Trim plastic to 1/4-inch margin all the way around. Dry-erase markers allow you to check off the list, wipe it clean when you are done, and use it again and again!
