Branches of silk houseplants, thread, and artificial water combine to make these convincing little favors that will make each guest smile with fondness. Download our thank you template, or create your own. These favors are easily made in bulk.
You will need
small glass votive holders, or shot glasses, washed, dried, and clean of fingerprints
silk houseplants, or similar, with small leaves and several stems
various types of thread (hand quilting, all-purpose, etc) in several beige-like colors (we used beiges, tans, and one darker brown)
simulated resin based water, found in the silk flower aisle if the craft store
narrow ribbon
desired labels, or download our THANK YOU label template, printed on white cardstock
wire cutters, scissors, diposable plastic spoon to stir resin, tiny hole paper punch
Using wire cutters, separate silk plant branches into smaller stems, long enough to peek over the top of the votive holders or shot glasses. Set aside.

Typical of the late 19th and early 20th century, this vintage advertisement card is perfect for a needle holder! Simply print the template onto cardstock, fold on the marked line, and then cut out. Cut a piece of brightly colored felt to hold a package full of needles!
For each needle holder you will need
Vintage Avertisement Card template*
cardstock, computer printer
scrap of felt, any color
several hand sewing needles
scissors, ruler, tacky type craft glue, bone folder or small tapestry needle
Download and print the Vintage Advertisement Card template onto cardstock. With ruler and bone folder, or small tapsetry needle, score fold line.
Fold card on the marked line; cut out on the dashed lines. Fold card again to make sure that the card is cut squarely; trim if necessary. Cut the small scrap of felt to fit inside of card; adhere with craft glue. Allow felt piece to dry. Stick needles through felt piece as desired.
*This graphic would also be great for a greeting card or scrapbook embellishment. Both the front and back of the original card are included. If you would like to re-create the original card, cut out both pieces separetely and glue bacl of cards together with rubber cement, aligning both pieces evenly.

Use Perler® Fuse Beads and the photographs below to make these fridge magnets based on Amish quilt blocks. Follow the manufacturer's directions to fuse the beads with a household iron, then glue magnets to the backs. It's as easy as that! Each block measures approximately 2 1/2-inches square.

Floating on a snowflake star, this little nativity would be perfect for a place-setting favor. It is small enough to be tucked in anywhere you want to show the reason for the season.
For one nativity decoration you will need
1 pill box nativity scene, or a nativity scene small enough to sit on the snowflake ornament
1 plastic snowflake ornament, large enough to hold the nativity scene
small branches clipped from a holiday bouquet
1 pine chenille stem, long enough to circle the base of the nativity scene
3-4 tiny white flowers, clipped from a larger bunch
silicone-type craft glue, we used Household Goop
If using the pill box nativity scene, carefully separate the nativity scene (top) from the metal band of the pill box. (Save the botton part, including the gold metal band, for another project.) With silicone type craft glue, glue the nativity scene to the snowflake making sure it is centered; allow to dry.

Save your bottle caps and look what you can make for the Christmas tree! It takes very little to whip up this little cutie! All you need is the recycled cap and some craft supplies you already have on hand! Change the color of the top pompon, and you will have flavors to tempt everyone!
For each ornament you will need
1 recycled cap from a mouthwash bottle, the long conical type
2 coffee stir straws
2 large pompons-1 any color for base, 1 ice cream color
5 small white pompons, for whipped cream
enough fancy trim to go around top of cap
small holly leaves and berries, for garnish
6-inch cord, thread, or floss, for hanger
tacky type craft glue, scissors
Wash and dry mouthwash cap. With tacky glue, glue base pompon into bottom of cap. Referring to the photo, cut coffee stir straws to desired length; insert into cap alongside the base pompon. Tie a knot in cord and glue into cap, slightly aside of the straws. Allow to dry.

Reminiscent of oil lamps of days gone by, this version uses a small votive candle instead of kerosene! Make sure the glass parts are free of oil and grease or the glue will not bond properly. Fill the resevoir with anything small to give your lamp a little color...and the best part, almost everything can be found in the dollar store!
For each hurricane lamp you will need
1 5-inch candy dish with cover that has a flat knob on the top
1 crystal taper holder
1 hurricane-type candle holder
3-inch wide red wired ribbon
sprig of artificial holly, or evergreen, with berries
small items to fill resevoir, if desired, we used small antique glass ornaments and beads
votive candle
Glass Bond glue**, or other glue suitable for adhering glass to glass
Wash and dry each glass part, making sure it is clean and free of dust, dirt, and oil residue. Follow the gluing instructions printed in the label to adhere the taper holder to the center bottom of the candy dish. Adhere the hurricane to the top of the candy dish cover, centering it on the flat part of the knob.

Easy enough for the beginner, these washcloths knit fast! Make several to give as a gift; package them in a pretty glass candle holder, like we did, then add a bar of gourmet soap to make things extra special!
For each washcloth you will need
1 ball 100% cotton yarn
straight knitting needles size 8 (US)
Gauge: 6 stitches=1 inch, gauge is not important for this project
Finished size: 10.5 inches wide x 10 inches high

What could be more fun for Halloween than a chorus of bellowing gourds howling at the top of their lungs? Make these jolly fellows out of dollar store gourds, then embellish them with a little sequin glitz...vary the size of the wiggle eyes for interesting gazes!
For each gourd you will need
1 plastic covered, foam filled gourd (we found ours at the dollar store)
small sequins, we chose black
glass rocaille beads, that fit onto sequin pins
sequin pins
black water based gloss paint
wiggle eyes in varying sizes
pencil, hobby knife, tacky craft glue
Referring to photograph, use a pencil to draw two circle for the eye sockets and one larger circle for mouth, taking care to space eye sockets far enough apart to get two rows of sequins around the holes. With hobby knife, pierce skin, about 1/2-inch below the surface and cut around the line. Carefully peel up plastic skin and discard.

Using pink beads for breast cancer awareness, like we did, recapture the look of adorably sweet candy bracelets by using all kinds of pretty beads! Get the group together and make plenty to show your support, or donate a bunch of them to your favorite charity bazaar...a great group project to use up all your odds and ends!
For each bracelet you will need
stretchy cord
assortment of beads (any shapes; the more the better)
clear nail polish
scissors, tape measure
Cut a length of stretchy cord twice the circumference of wrist plus 6 inches (for tying). Fold the cord in half and tie a knot large enough to hold the first bead. String beads on cord in random or sequential order, as desired, until there are enough beads to go around wrist with a little stretch. When bracelet reaches the desired length, bring the knotted end up to the closed end and tie a double knot (to form a circle). Carefully add a drop of clear nail polish, painting over knot, and allow to dry. Trim ends leaving a 1/4-inch tail. Add another drop of nail polish, as before, and allow to dry.
*Since most of the supplies for this project come in bulk, this is and excellent party craft and easy to teach to a group!
