Market Square block tutorial
Sew together the Beige 2-inch squares and the Blue 2-inch squares. Then sew those together to make 4 Four-Patch A units that will be in the corners. Make four of these.
Sew together the 2 by 6 1/2-inch rectangles to make the B units. Press the seams and set the units aside. You will need to make 4 of these.
For the center C unit, lay out the Blue and Red scraps as you like...
then sew them together in rows...then sew the rows together to make a 6 1/2-inch center square C unit.
Lay out the block by units. You may need to re-press some of the seams so they nest together.
Following the diagram on Page 2, construct the block in vertical rows: start with the sides, then the middle...matching corners and seams as you go, just like a large Nine-Patch.
The Market Square block is now finished! See you next month for a new story and a new block!
