Snowy Globe Ornaments
What could look more Christmas-y than snow and pine? These little gems are quick to make and look right at home on a holiday table or hung from the branches of a Christmas tree. Vary the ribbon colors to suit your color scheme...and make plenty to give!
You will need
- clear glass/plastic ornaments, about 3-inches in diameter
- artificial pine stems*
- scraps of ribbon
- white/snow colored glitter, we used Diamond Dust*
scissors, skewer, scrap paper, spoon
Carefully remove hanger and cap from ornament by sqeezing the wire hanger and sliding the cap upwards. Use caution since the inside lip of the glass ornament may be sharp! Set aside.
Cut a sprout or two from the pine stems. Tie a scrap of ribbon around the stem and trim the ends. We simply tied a loose knot and cut the ends on an angle. Carefully force the pine stem (with the knot) into the opening of the ornament, using the skewer to help place the pine, if needed.
Roll a piece of scrap paper into a cone-shaped funnel and place it into the opening at the top alongside the pine stem. Carefully spoon the glitter into the funnel filling the ornament with the desired amount. Replace cap and hanger.
*choose artificial pine or other greens that will pass through the opening of your ornaments.
**we chose Diamond Dust because it looks like real snow/ice...feel free to use any glitter you like.
