A handy little reference, this little card is easy to keep in your purse or wallet. It helps calculate common measurements used in quilting. There are ten cards on our template...use pretty scrapbook paper cut to fit your computer printer; passing out the extra cards as gifts!
For one card you will need
1 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch sheet of scrapbook paper that is white (unprinted) on one side, or scrapbook paper cut to fit your computer's printer
1 self-sealing laminating pouch 2 15/16-inch by 3 15/16-inch, available in the office supply section 5-inch scrap of 3/4-inch wide patterned ribbon Scissors, ruler, pencil, standard-size hole punch, magic marker Choose and trim desired scrapbook paper to 8 1/2-inch by 11-inch (the size of the paper used
in the download) and insert into the printer so that the white side of the page will be the side that the computer prints on.*
Download and print the Inches-to-Yards template onto the white side of scrapbook paper. With ruler and scissors, cut apart the ten cards.
Following the manufacturer's directions, laminate one card in one laminating pouch. For best results, place the white printed side of the card against the non-sticky side of the laminating pouch. Use the end of the magic marker (container) to press along the paper, sealing the plastic as close as possible. Trim sealed plastic leaving an 1/8 of an inch margin all the way around the card. With a hole punch, make a hole in the upper left corner, through paper and plastic, about 1/4 inch in and down, as shown in the photo.
Loop ribbon through the hole as shown, pulling tightly. Trim ribbon ends to desired length.
*We suggest making a trial copy onto plain white paper before proceeding with the scrapbook paper.
