Empire Star Block Tutorial
The C and D unit start with a pieced Beige square. Draw diagonal lines across the Beige 3 3/4-inch squares. Sew and cut on one of the the drawn lines as shown.
The E units are simply hourglass units that are started the same way as the other half square triangles. Draw an x through the 3 3/4-inch Beige squares...
The other half of the E unit is the same thing only in Red and Blue. Mark an X through the Red 3 3/4-inch square. Layer on top of the Blue 3 3/4-inch square. Sew and cut as we have done earlier...don't forget to press the Red and Blue units open! And don't forget to mark the rest of the diagonal line, if you need to!
Then sew the rows to each other...take care to match your seams! Use lots of pins if you must!
