Scrapbooking has long been a hobby, but now days, it has become a favorite past-time! There are so many wonderful designers, paper suppliers, gadget makers, and gizmo creators. In fact, a simple trip to your favorite scrapbook shop may result in "brain blaze", a wonderful condition that can trigger a sleepless night and the senseless, lost feeling, of wanting to retain, remember, and recreate everything you have seen! But oh, the creative surge that follows!
Published by CK Media, the editors of Creating Keepsakes(tm) understand "brain blaze"...they may even be afflicted as well! They regularly offer a magazine that keeps the embers of "brain blaze" glowing with interesting articles, layout ideas, product reviews, useful tips, and so very much more! Creative Keepsakes(tm) June 2009 is no exception to the rule!
Why I subscribe? Scrapbooking is a new pursuit for me. A trip to the scrapbook shop is overwhelming: there are so many things I wish to make! Creative Keepsakes(tm) prepares me for the trip and keeps me focused once I am there. I find most of the articles, even though they may be on a different level than I am, useful and informative...I am building an "idea library" as I learn and this magazine helps me.
Projects I hope to make (someday!)? I love you! (p43)--what a great way to combine texture with paper, Robot Love (p67)--I have some great photos of my nephews when they were little, We Did It (p88)--for a wedding keepsake, framed, for some friends of mine, Lisa's Event Month (p103)--a great journaling idea!
Project I can't wait to give a try? Wedding Guest Book (p109)--but I will use pictures of my home to use as a guest book--simply a cool idea for any sort of book to sign!
Unexpected delight? The ads! I think the advertisements are not only helpful to find supplies, but also to gather ideas for colors, lay-outs, and graphic advice!
Not to miss? The Dear Lizzy article (p97). Lizzy tackles "get the most for your money" question...and how to use up extra supplies. Brava, Lizzy!
Web-treat: The "Fry-Box" party favor (p110)--it's adorable! Who could stop at (making) just one!
Helping Hands: "Quick Start" icons (p10) will help you identify key factors of each page layout and the "It's A Match" (p18) will help you narrow down a layout by the number of photos you want to use...how handy is that?
This summer will have many photo opportunities, and Creating Keepsakes(tm) can definately help you create amazing scrapbook pages, too! The June 2009 issue is on newstands nationwide.
